MONITORING THE INFLAMMATORY PROCESS OF FELINE LOWER URINARY TRACT DISEASE

چکیده
This study aimed to compare the hemato-biochemical parameters in cats suffered from FLUTD with those of healthy cats, and evaluate inflammatory process by measuring serum amyloid A, alpha-1-Acid glycoprotein, plasma fibrinogen concentrations. Cats frequently suffer feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD), which causes acute renal failure, electrolyte buildup, acid-base imbalance. Acute-phase proteins can be used monitor processes disease. The present included thirty both sexes, nine defined as clinically 21 signs idiopathic cystitis and/ or urethral obstruction for up 24 hours were cat group. Blood samples collected cephalic vein hematological, biochemical assays measurement acute-phase protein concentrations, including SAA, AGP, fibrinogen. Serum SAA AGP measured using commercial ELISA kits.In FLUTD, total white blood cell count, neutrophils, platelets count increased significantly, did mean values hematological indices. However, there was a significant decrease value red cells, hemoglobin, PCV. urea nitrogen, creatinine, proteins, albumin, potassium, phosphorus levels all while sodium chloride decreased significantly. When compared fibrinogen, alpha-1- acid A significantly higher FLUTD. There positive correlation between concentrations phase biomarkers (SAA, fibrinogen) nitrogen creatinine. It is concluded that, could employed an indicator processes.

Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease
ETIOLOGY Feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD) includes infl ammatory diseases of the lower urinary tract and non-infl ammatory conditions that cause urination in inappropriate places. Both male and female cats are affected but mostly only male cats develop urethral obstruction. Typical signs in non-obstructed cats include pollakiuria, stranguria, hematuria and urination in inappropriate p...

Feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD) is not a single disease but rather an umbrella term for several disorders, the most common being feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC), uroliths and urethral crystalline-matrix plugs. Regardless of the underlying cause, FLUTD is characterised by dysuria (painful or difficult urination), pollakiuria (frequent and/or prolonged attempts to urinate), stranguria...
